8th Annual Groundhog Day Party and German Potluck
More than eight years ago, both of us were watching the movie Groundhog Day, and we had an idea to put together a party for Groundhog Day. We wanted the party to be something different that no one else had really done before. Since we heard a polka song in the movie over and over again (The Pennsylvania Polka) we decided to base our theme on this, because it sounded German. We had also just taken a couple of trips to Germany and we missed the fabulous food that we experienced. Little did we know that Groundhog Day really does have German Roots (although it was a badger). We put together a party that plays the Groundhog Day movie every year (over and over again, just like the movie) and includes a German potluck. Every year has been a successful feast of elaborate German food with many creative, delicious dishes. We will be having it on Saturday, February 2th. The German potluck will begin at 6 PM. The movie will start around 7:45.
